I strongly suggest the DNA Course, particularly for those just starting out with DNA. Going through the course at your own speed lets you focus on a topic until it makes sense. The resources and tools provided are super useful for grasping the ideas and putting them into practice.

This course is thoughtfully structured, offering a solid amount of information. Each section provides a decent learning experience. The assessments are useful for ensuring you understand the ideas. Given the wide scope of DNA genealogy, they’ve really nailed it. There were a few concepts, terms, and tools that were brought up without thorough explanations, so I had to sometimes hop over to Google to keep up, but it all worked out fine.

I enrolled in the Genetic Genealogy course at DNA Academy, and it was amazing. The knowledge I gained is gonna assist me in my personal genealogy and also aid clients with theirs.

This online course is ideal for those just starting out and for those with some experience who want to discover their biological relatives. I really enjoyed the triangulation parts.

I just finished the DNA Academy course by Trace. A bit of the info was stuff I’d seen before in other classes, but there were definitely sections with fresh content and useful applications. The Facebook group was a nice touch for students to chat. On the downside, though, Trace wasn’t really active in the group to help with our queries.

I found this course to be super comprehensive, and I really liked the way it was structured. Each part connected nicely to the following one, with clear explanations and relevant examples. Including the skills practice before the assessment was a great touch to help apply what we learned. I'd totally suggest the trace DNA Academy to anyone wanting to boost their understanding of DNA and research methods.

I've done a bunch of courses, both online and face-to-face, covering everything from adoption to DNA and triangulation, and let me tell ya, the Trace course stands out as the most beneficial. The lessons are thorough, insightful, and not at all redundant, plus they’re nicely organized. Each lesson is packed with a variety of worksheets, exercises, and assessments to help grasp the extensive content. Trace really takes it to the next level compared to the usual methods!

I wrapped up my search with a positive outcome. The researcher provided crucial updates every month, which reassured me that progress was being made. It can take a bit of time based on the specifics of your inquiry, but honestly, I believe it was all worth it to finally get the answers I needed.

This company has the best marketing, but they are truly the worst. I got sucked in and ended up sending them a lot of cash. My main contact was Matt Bidstrup through email. I provided Trace with all the info I had on my great grandparents from Baltimore, which I had been digging into for 40 years. I specifically asked for their port of entry and details about their origins in Lithuania. Instead, after what felt like an eternity, I received their addresses in Baltimore and their kids' birthdays! Not a single thing I requested or paid for. They just sent me back what I had already uncovered years ago by visiting and researching in Baltimore. Last year, my husband decided to hire a professional genealogist in Sicily who guaranteed him five generations in just three weeks for $800. I was doubtful because of Trace’s terrible service, but guess what? Three weeks later, he received birth, death, and marriage records for five generations along with an amazing family tree. Trace is a total scam and likely outsources to inexperienced genealogists. They refused to give me a refund. I got absolutely nothing for my money. Do not use their services. They are the absolute worst. I’m still fuming. Just hire a pro!

I discovered that the Skills Practice activities were super useful. Reading about it is one thing, but actually doing the activity really helped me out a lot.

I really liked that nobody from Trace made any unrealistic promises about what could be done in a tough search. The clear pricing was also a big plus, and there was no annoying 'upselling' afterwards. The final report had details I couldn't dig up on my own, and it was nicely written. I felt it was a good investment and would definitely turn to this service again if I hit another family history snag that needs some expert help.

I was super into the updates. They got me hyped for what’s coming next. You always nail it and keep your promises.

Overall, I rate Trace with five stars. This rating comes from the thorough documentation I got. Plus, I'm planning to follow the advice to keep researching.

After working with Austin Goodsell, I really trust the folks at Trace. The duration it took to wrap up my project was quite lengthy. I don't foresee that happening again. I also want to stay connected with a rep from the research team when needed. That finally occurred, though it wasn't without some challenges.
